How to target feed coral

In many reef tanks, one may find it necessary to target feed a coral because of water currents or other inhabitants such as shrimp and fish eating all the food and leaving nothing for the corals.

Here are two ways to target feed. One method is to pull the food into a turkey baster and apply the food directly above the coral or in the current that it is in. However, a lot of times food is lost due to water currents, shrimp or fish. If this is the case, using a well rinsed soda bottle; cut the bottle in half and place the upper half of the bottle over your target coral. Insert the turkey baster into the mouth of the bottle and apply the food.

Be sure to wash and rinse the bottle out well first. Don't use soap. Vinegar works well.
